Symbiotic Foods is a leading grower, packer, and exporter of premium fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables. We are located at the heart of East Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. Our company was founded in 2011. Our mission is to deliver nutrient-rich, sustainably grown produce to global markets, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction from farm to fork.
Our Products
We specialize in the export of a diverse range of fresh produce, including all types of herbs like chives, rosemary, mint, oregano, tarragon, sage, basil, parsley, coriander, marjoram in addition to fruits like Hass and Fuerte avocados, mangoes, passion fruits, and a variety of fresh vegetables. Our product list is constantly growing to meet the varied needs of our clientele.
Sourcing & Quality Control
We rely on genuine relationships with individual farmers, which allows us to cut out the middleman and guarantee premium quality. We pride ourselves on sourcing the very best produce directly from the hands of our trusted network of Kenyan farmers. Through this, we can rely on the traceability of our produce from sowing the seeds to reaping the harvest.
We source our produce from an extensive network of our own farms and carefully selected smallholder farmers. All produce is handled with a holistic approach to the value chain, incorporating scientific management techniques, post-harvest technology, and rigorous quality control systems to ensure the highest quality and food safety standards are met. Produce traceability from farm to client is guaranteed.
Standards & Compliance
All our export operations conform to stringent domestic and international food standards. We ensure every consignment has the necessary phytosanitary certificate from the relevant plant health inspection service (e.g., KEPHIS in Kenya), a certificate of origin, and other required documentation to ensure seamless customs clearance.
Logistics & Shipping Solutions
Our robust logistical network and partnerships with exceptional logistics providers ensure efficient shipping solutions. We utilize solar-powered cold storage at the farm level and hygienic reefer containers to maintain the freshness and integrity of our produce during transportation, guaranteeing timely delivery to clients in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
